Standards & Credentialing

Our standards ensure that every verified teacher represents safe, ethical and authentic Yogic education — no matter where they live or where they studied.

Why Standards Matter

Yoga is more than a physical practice. When someone becomes a Yoga teacher, they step into a role of trust, responsibility and influence. Clear standards protect students from unsafe teaching, diluted knowledge and unethical behavior — while also honouring teachers who are genuinely committed to the path.

IYB standards bring structure where the industry is often unregulated. Instead of “anyone can claim to be a teacher”, we create a transparent system where qualifications can be seen, verified and trusted.

What We Look For

We Evaluate the Teacher, Not Just the Certificate

IYB does not control your curriculum. Your Yoga training can come from any authentic school or lineage. Our role is to evaluate you as a professional — how you teach, how you behave, how you represent Yoga in the world.

Teaching Skill

Clarity of instruction, cueing, class structure and ability to hold a safe space.

Applied Knowledge

Real understanding of asana mechanics, breathwork, basic anatomy and Yogic principles.

Ethics & Conduct

Professional boundaries, respect, non-harm and transparent communication.

Commitment to Growth

Ongoing self-practice, learning and openness to feedback and refinement.

Credential Levels

A progressive path from “Certified” to “Verified” to “Recognized Professional”.

Global Recognition, Local Impact

Whether you teach online, in a home studio, in retreats or in established Yoga schools — an IYB verification mark shows that you take your role seriously and that your work has been reviewed at a professional level.

Students may choose you because of your style, personality and presence — but they trust you faster because IYB stands behind your name.
